OK 4WD pulled off another great Oktober Truckfest Show this past weekend! Great weather, impressive turnout, and amazing deals helped make OK 4WD in Stewartsville, NJ the place to be. Several vendors were on hand showing off new products and answering questions. Yours truly, BDS Suspension made the haul from Coldwater, MI in our new 2011 Chevy HD sporting the BDS 6.5” HC Kit for the event.
This show brings out a huge variety of vehicles from the old school classics to the extreme built rigs and OK Auto had trophy classes to cover them all. OK’s facilities includes a rock course for testing purposes and several rigs took their turn playing on the course and entertaining the crowd.
The great thing about this event is regardless your interest in trucks, its fun for everyone with the trucks, games, live music to enjoy, pumpkin & face painting for the kids, and the local fire department behind the grills feeding us all day!
Jim, the owner of OK 4WD and his crew did a spectacular job organizing and taking care of everyone throughout the day. Their show room was full of inventory and continuously busy. “It’s a 4WD candy store!” was the most fitting comment I heard that day!
If you have never been there you really need to make plans to attend one of OK events or stop by the shop to check out the facilities. Thanks to the guys at OK for another great event and we can’t wait for next years.
I always enjoy attending the Bloomsburg Jamboree and there’s always a great turnout. The weather was hot, but no rain so we’ll take it! As usual I worked the show with the gang from Apple Hill 4×4, our local BDS distributor out of Muncy, PA… “What a Crew”. I also ran into a couple of BDS distributors showing off their vehicles. Branden from Krazy House Customs out of Monmouth Junction, NJ & Tim from Rhino Linings of Delaware out of Newark, DE both have awesome show vehicles. Tim won the best interior award in his category… NICE!
GM Performance had their big rig and tent set up with a new 1500 Silverado sporting a BDS 4” lift kit. Many of the spectators were asking the GM crew if this was a new factory option! It was pretty cool they were directing folks over to the Apple Hill/BDS tent for more information. Nice to see the GM company with enough confidence in our kits to put them on their show vehicles! Must be the “No fine print Warranty”.
Trucks were cruising the show all weekend, I can’t even begin to explain the variety of lifted vehicles or the type of lift kits on them… it’s got to be seen. From factory suspensions to homemade ingenuity they got pretty interesting. A few even made up some makeshift hot tubs in the truck beds to help beat the heat. The arena had events all weekend for spectators and professionals, of course all the popular Monster trucks were there competing too, what a treat! Oh ya and if you make it out to Bloomy on a Saturday make sure you stick around for the Fireworks they set off at dusk, quite a show!
Thanks to all the folks who stopped by the Apple Hill 4×4 / BDS Suspension tent it’s always good to get out and meet ya.
Had a great time and looking forward to going again!
BDS distributor Kakabeka Offroad Centre (Kakabeka Falls, ON) sent us a few pictures and this story about their trip to Moab.
With regards to the MOAB Easter Jeep Safari 2010 it was a busy time. Like many of the people we met, we had travelled about 1650 miles to get to Moab. Our first day was spent on the Gemini bridges trail ending up at Dead Horse overlook. WOW what a view. Day two found us out with the Warn Red Letter Crew on the Cliffhanger trail. This was very entertaining with the big steps at the beginning of the trail and many slightly off camber aspects. A bit challenging but passable.
Day three found us again out with the Warn Red Letter Crew doing the Seven Mile Rim trail. We were able to meet the boys from BDS Suspension and spent some time talking about the products and the upcoming show at the arena the next day. Of all the teams we met in Moab it was especially great to meet these guys as we have dealt with them for about 15 years.
For all those that have not yet made it to Moab, get there, it is absolutely fantastic. All in all it was well worth the drive………….See ya next year MOAB!
We took the BDS Tundra with a 7” lift along with our displays out to OK Auto’s “OKtober Truckfest” which was great success. The weather cooperated with us, the turnout was great, and the vehicles were amazing! Ok Auto does an awesome job putting the show together.
The front parking lot was full of vendors showing the off their wares, a singing duet for additional entertainment and the local fire department had a food tent going to keep everyone happy! A few folks besides the R/C crowd made way to the rock pile to show off their driving skills during the show. Ok Auto also had a table full of trophies to give out at the end of the show along with other prizes such as a BDS gift certificate for suspension products.
It was a fun weekend, some real good conversations and I urge anyone that has a chance to go to one of their shows, a great time was had by all!
