BDS is the official suspension of the 2013 Ultimate Adventure!

March 15th, 2013 No comments
BDS Suspension is proud to announce they are the official suspension of the 2013 Ultimate Adventure hosted by 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine. Each year the magazine organizes a mystery adventure in an undisclosed location where 20+ trail rigs load up their gear for a week of 4wheeling, camping, and highway time as the convoy wheels a particular region of the country covering 1000+ miles and various off-road terrains.

Part of being a sponsor of Ultimate Adventure means we get to take part in the trip, and that seems like a great excuse to spend some company money building a new trail rig. Stay tuned for more info on the new project vehicle as we build it up for the adventure ahead.

H&S F350 in Diesel World Magazine

H&S Performance’s F350 in Diesel World Magazine
Tom Wood, an engineer over at H&S Performance built this gorgeous 2012 Ford F350 Super Duty to tackle his everyday daily driving duties. From prototyping new diesel products to dyno testing, and sled pulling, this truck sees its fair share of abuse. This rig features a laundry list of mods done tastefully to accent the truck. Mods include a BDS 8” 4-Link Lift Kit with dual Fox 2.0 shocks up front, 40” Interco M-16s mounted on 22” BMF wheels along with a pair of colormatched Fusion Bumpers with a Superwinch and Rigid LED Lighting installed. Also making the build are a set of Bushwacker flares, a BMF grill, painted headlights, smoked taillights, and a pair of Amp Research steps. The 6.7L Power Stroke received plenty of attention from the crew at H&S Performance and has no trouble turning the massive 40s.
Following a booth appearance in the BDS Booth at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Tom scored a shoot with the fellas over at Diesel World Magazine. Congrats to Tom Wood on the feature article, read all about it in the March 2013 Issue or check out the digital at http://www.dieselworldmag.com/engineering-platform/

Call for Submissions! Get your ride in the 2013 BDS Catalog

December 3rd, 2012 No comments

It’s that time of year again and BDS Suspension is designing the 2013 Master Catalog. This 150-page full color catalog is sent to distributors and media worldwide. Want us to show off your BDS-equipped truck!?! Grab your friend the photographer to grab some cool shots of your ride to send us. To be eligible, we need high-resolution (no cell phone pics, no Facebook submissions), well lit (no night photos), professionally shot photos (DSLR preferred) of your BDS lifted rides in an outdoor setting (no driveway shots). Send us your highest quality images (5mp or larger) without effects or graphics on them to be used for print quality. Make sure the truck is either immaculately clean or purposefully dirty in an off-road setting. Low angle shots and off-road action shots work the best. For other tips, check out http://bds-suspension.com/bar#tips and see the photo examples below.

While it goes without saying, be safe and don’t do anything illegal to get these shots. We want to see responsible 4wheeling and fun action shots of your BDS equipped rides. If your truck is selected for the 2013 catalog we’ll send you a BDS t-shirt, decals, and a copy of the catalog to show off to all your friends. (Photos appearing in previous editions of the BDS master catalog are not eligible for prizes, however new photos may be submitted). Photos are due by December 16, 2012 to be eligible for next year’s catalog so hurry up and submit them in to http://bds-suspension.com/bar.

Any questions, feel free to contact the marketing department at marketing@bds-suspension.com and check out a few examples below for what we’re looking for.

SEMA Show 2012

Without a doubt one of the pinnacle events within the automotive aftermarket industry is the SEMA Show. This annual event hosted by SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) brings tens of thousands out to Las Vegas, NV in a week long barrage of automotive overload to the senses. Whether you’re into lifted trucks, off-road racing, high performance, cars, racing, lowering, lighting, audio, or big wheels and tires, SEMA has something to amaze and excite you. From debuting the latest products to inspiring future trends in the market, the SEMA Show is the place to see what’s going on in this industry. This 4 day show brings together manufacturers, media, and other industry professionals all centered around the Las Vegas Convention Center as over aftermarket companies showcase their company’s newest products. BDS Suspension will be there once again this year, expanding on last year’s booth space to showcase additional vehicles and new products. This year’s booth is set in the same location as last year (left wall of south hall, upper level #30192) and is now 100×25′ with a variety of show vehicles slated to show off the latest products from BDS Suspension.

Each year BDS Suspension teams up with sister company Zone Offroad Products in a joint display. This year Zone will be bringing the Ultimate Adventure Jeep JK Offroadster (2-faced Jeep Wrangler) to display a number of new suspension and offroad products. This year, as in past years BDS will have a themed booth, one of the ways we like to stand out from the rest of the manufacturers displaying at the show. The off-road shop theme of 2 years ago and last year’s outdoor camping themed booth were big successes and this year we plan to have quite the party with our football tailgating themed booth. Come by and join the party with BDS Suspension in booth #30192. Grab a cold beer and hotdog on us and check out some of the new products we have available. Take a load off and feel the excitement as BDS turns the SEMA into the ultimate pregame party.

BDS will also have dozens of vehicles strategically displayed throughout the show in manufacturers’ booths and as featured vehicles. Look for more on those as the show approaches. Unfortunately this show is not open to the public; it is limited to industry professionals and media. To get the latest updates on what’s new at SEMA and what vehicles are on display, check out the BDS Facebook page during the show.

Another great Indy Jamboree is in the books…

September 25th, 2012 No comments

This year’s Indianapolis 4Wheel Jamboree was one for the record books. With great weather (Saturday-Sunday) and and the largest turnout in recent years, the event boasted an assortment of events to keep the whole family entertained all weekend long. After some rainy weather Friday, the sun came out along with the masses to check out the thousands of lifted trucks on display, watch monster trucks race, and talk to vendors and take advantage of great show specials. Team BigFoot brought their wings with them as that shattered a Guinness World Record jumping the big blue monster truck 214.8ft, check the video out here. BDS made the trip down to Indy and nearly cleared out our vehicle corral with a fleet of 6 show rigs on display from the ever popular Stubby, to SEMA rigs, prototype project trucks, and more. The booth stayed slammed all weekend long with customers stopping by to check out the trucks, ask questions, and take advantage of our special offers. Whether your high horsepower burnouts, tough truck racing, or cruising around the fairgrounds to show off your pride and joy, the Indy 4Wheel Jamboree is the place to enjoy your 4×4. Mug drags, monster trucks, and bikini contest are also in order and bring quite a crowd. After 31 years, this continues to be a great event and a great time for all. Thanks to everyone that stopped by to see us!

Four Wheeler Installation Article: A Look At BDS’ 6-Inch Lift For The 2009-10 Ford F150

August 21st, 2012 No comments

BDS Suspension offers a way to make the F-150 even better for us off-highway junkies. Their 6-inch High Clearance kit fits the ’09 and ’10 F-150 and features cool stuff like high-arched crossmembers made from ¼-inch steel; CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles; gas-charged front struts; a steel front differential skidplate; and a rear offset spring plate. The kit allows you to fit up to a 37×13.50 tire on a 17×9 wheel with 5.5-inch backspacing.

We recently h-ad the opportunity to visit Attitude Performance in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to watch the team install one of these kits on a customer’s 2010 F-150 FX4, and it was interesting to see how BDS approached lifting the F-150.  Follow along as we show you the highlights of the kit.
