Chevy’s Silverado ZR2 Concept Vehicle

August 31st, 2010 2 comments

So who’s seen Chevy’s Silverado ZR2 Concept vehicle? This truck debuted at SEMA last year and has been busy over the last 10-months being showcased at SEMA and countless other truck shows, offroad events, Nascar races and more.  This truck screams performance from the exterior features to the well-built drivetrain components. This truck features tons of aesthetic upgrades to the standard Silverado including custom paint and carbon fiber throughout on the grille, hood, tailgate, fender flares, fascias and interior. The heart of the Silverado ZR2 concept is a supercharged 6.2L LSA V8 putting out 550-hp through it’s six-speed automatic transmission. When it came to suspension for this bulletproof truck, GM knew where to turn when then came to us for a BDS 4’’ High Clearance Suspension Kit, offering more ground clearance and extra protection over other kits on the market. Scott Evans from Trucktrend.com said in reference to the truck competing with the Ford Raptor, “Power sufficiently addressed, Chevy turned to the suspension. A big part of what makes the Raptor the Raptor is its military-grade suspension, which Chevy did not try to match tit-for-tat. Instead, they turned to BDS, which outfitted the truck with a 4-in lift and gave them room to fit 20-in BBS wheels wrapped in 35-in Goodyear Wrangler tires…”

This truck is amazing and has to be seen and heard to appreciate completely. Now if only Chevy will put this truck into production and give the Raptor a run for its money.

Ultimate Adventure Teaser…

August 27th, 2010 No comments

So everyone knows we ran the Ultimate Adventure for the second year in a row, right!? BDS was the Official Suspension Sponsor for 2010 and proved once again that you can take an everyday rig like our Wrangler TJ and bolt on BDS’s longarm suspension and wheel it hard all over the Northeast. The suspension took everything we threw at it with no problems. The only issues were a busted u-joint and yoke, which will happen on a trip like this. Check out the teaser and get ready for another awesome Ultimate Adventure DVD to come out soon…

Bad Azz Truck Expo Recap

August 22nd, 2010 No comments

The Bad Azz Truck Expo in Ionia, MI drew in a crowd of trucks and people for a weekend of excitement and 4wheel festivities. Full size trucks, jeeps and custom creations took to the fairgrounds to participate in benchmark events like the show-n-shine and dirt drags. The mud bog, tug-o-war and burnout contests kept fans entertained by trucks sporting high horsepower and huge tires, along with drivers heavy on the skinny pedal . As in years past, the Mongoose monster truck put on a show entertaining the crowd with high flying stunts and car crushes. BDS set up in the vendors area talking to customers, giving away swag and showing off the truck and custom 4-link display carts. Rocks and Valleys Off Road Park in Harrison, MI built a rock crawling course for participants to try out their rigs and test their driving ability. All in all the event was a success and we look forward to seeing this event grow each year.

PRESS RELEASE #108

4″ High Clearance, No Torsion Bar Drop Suspension System available for the 2002-05 Dodge 1500 4WD Trucks

Coldwater, MI—August 18, 2010— BDS Suspension is at it again with new suspension options for the 2002-05 Dodge 1500 trucks. In addition to their 6″ High Clearance No Torsion Bar Drop kit, BDS is now offering all the great features in their 4″ suspension system. The 4″ High Clearance No Torsion Bar Drop system offers more ground clearance and better protection than all other kits on the market!

The two main high clearance crossmembers are locked together by the differential skidplate and a passenger side support creating a subframe built to handle any abuse you can throw at it. Combine these features with the CNC machined steering knuckles, bump stop relocation system and gas shock upgrade options and you have a system that stands above anything available on the market today, except of course the BDS 6″ System. The kit gives clearance for up to 35″ tires and carries the BDS exclusive, No Fine Print Warranty.

Great Escapes Offroad’s 4×4 Show

August 11th, 2010 No comments

BDS Suspension and Zone Offroad teamed up with Jeremy from Great Lakes Truck Outfitters for the 2nd annual 4×4 Show in Adrian, MI. This event is hosted by Great Escapes Offroad Club and brings together 4x4s of all kinds in an effort to raise money for the American Cancer society. The event boasted tons of cool prizes and concept vehicles, along with vendors that showed off their latest products. The kids were kept entertained by the swing for the cure, power wheels Jeep crawl and large inflatables. The show had a good turnout with around a hundred vehicles of all kinds with varied amounts of customization. I got a chance to talk with a number of current and potential customers about their suspensions and got plenty of positive feedback on the kits we provide. After all the awards and door prizes were given out, everyone jumped into their vehicles and paraded through town rounding out this growing event until next year.
