King’s YJ in Colorado

November 29th, 2010 No comments

BDS works hard to bring you the best quality products and we love hearing back from our satisfied customers. Ken King from Colorado sent us photos  of his YJ along with this message:

“I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my YJ 2.5” BDS springs.  Some argue that coils are far superior than leafs.  However, I think these photos show what quality springs and swaybar disconnects can do.  I will absolutley recommend these to anyone I know looking for replacement springs. Thanks!”

SEMA Show 2010

November 6th, 2010 No comments

Well the SEMA Show 2010 is a wrap, but don’t think you’ve seen the last of it. Over the next months you’ll see a flood of media coverage, vehicle features in magazines, and new products coming available. As with past years of SEMA, BDS Suspension was well represented with a mix of show trucks, off-road vehicles, and in our massive 100ft long booth. After months of planning and preparation, the booth came together over the two days leading up to the show with a frenzy of hand tools, fork lifts, and manual labor. The booth matched our vision of an off-road shop complete with storefront, sales counters, wall and freestanding displays to include our lift kits and accessories, install garage area, and bathroom (see photos). Throughout the process of preparing for SEMA, we had a number of setbacks, but in the end the booth came together and made for an awesome display at SEMA.

The Show, once again, was a success. From the thousands of custom built vehicles to the Ford Raptor test drives/jumps in front of the convention center. From the organization of the vendors to the controlled chaos of drifting demos out in the parking lot. This show is amazing to say the least. From overbuilt trucks to frame-laying lowriders and pricey exotics (cars that is),  the SEMA Show has something for every type of automotive enthusiast. While we were a little disappointed with the placement of “Featured Vehicles” for this show, these are always improvements that can be made for future shows.

BDS Suspension worked closely with a number of companies to feature products out in Las Vegas for SEMA. While we’re limiting coverage in this post, we’ll have more info to follow on all these awesome trucks featuring BDS lift kits in the near future. Ansani Designs brought out their 2008 Toyota Tundra sporting a BDS 7” High Clearance Lift Kit and 35” Nitto Trail Grappler M/Ts. Backcountry Accessories displayed a number of vehicles including a custom-painted 4-door Jeep JK sporting a 4.5” BDS long arm lift kit. Pro Sport came to the show in their 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rescue Rubicon sporting a 6.5” BDS long arm lift kit, 37′s and tons of other goodies. Little Boys Off Road Toys built an awesome Jeep LJ/CJ8 running BDS’s 4.5” ultimate lift kit. LDRSHIP Designs made it out to the show with a number of their custom creations including a 2006 Ford F150 given altitude by an 8” BDS High Clearance Lift Kit. Hi-Lift had their Ultimate Adventure TJ on display showing off the used and abused BDS long arm kit as well.

With all the anticipation building up for this show each year, it always seems to pay off and excite the automotive aftermarket with new products and advances in technology. We had our first-to-market 6.5” High Clearance, No Torsion Bar Drop Lift Kit for the 2011 Chevy / GMC 2500HD Trucks and other new products like the 8” Long Arm Lift Kit for Dodge 2500 / 3500 Trucks on display for everyone to see first hand. Once again BDS Suspension had a blast out in Vegas for SEMA. We received a ton of positive feedback from current distributors as well as interest from a number of new national and international shops. We look forward to this coming year and the new opportunities it will bring for us.
