Coldwater, MI—May 29, 2014— BDS Suspension is excited to announce they are now shipping 6″ 4-link conversion systems for the 2014 RAM 2500 4WD trucks. These new systems are engineered to the highest standards to offer unmatched performance however you use or abuse your truck. As with all BDS kits, these 4-link systems are backed by a no fine print warranty giving you piece of mind on road or off the beaten path.
The heart of this system is the 4-link conversion that replaces the factory radius arm. Key benefits include to doing this include increased stability, wheel travel, and improved handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. Included are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to locate the new upper and lower control arms to create the optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allow the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time and make these kits reversible. The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders when turned. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing.
The additional height comes from a pair of specially designed progressive rate ProRide coil springs. The 6″ coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that 3/4-ton truck owners demand. A heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is included to recenter the front axle once lifted as well as a forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles. Sway bar relocation brackets are used to reposition the front sway bar assembly and the supplied brake line brackets allow for the easy adjustment for the stock lines to be reused with the lift kit.
With the redesigned front end of these trucks, the 6″ lift requires transmission/transfer case relocation components to allow the front driveshaft to function properly. BDS includes a new laser cut transmission crossmember and adjustable transmission mounting plate to increase clearance. The transfer case is repositioned by way of a supplied indexing ring kit to correct the operating angle and allow you to reinstall your factory driveshafts.
Out back, the new multi-link coil sprung suspension is modified to lift and level the stance. Rear 4.5″ progressive rate ProRide coil springs were specially engineered to offer impressive ride quality on highway while handling the abuse of heavy loads and offroad adventures. As with all BDS ProRide coils, these springs are guaranteed never to sag and offer increased suspension travel. To recenter the rear axle, an axle mounted heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is used along with a pair of extended sway bar links to keep the rear sway bar at the optimum operating angle. The kit includes your choice of BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks at all 4 corners for an improved performance on and offroad.
This system allows clearance for up to 37″ tires to be installed and offers impressive ride quality and offroad performance. BDS has a number of accessories available to fit the new 2014 RAM 2500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in 5500-series (white body), 9500-series (brushed stainless body) and Fox 2.0-series, the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. Stabilizers are available as both an OE replacement single stabilizer and dual kit mounting end-to-end.
BDS also offers a dual front shock hoop kit for a great look and increased dampening capablities. These hoops are fabricated from 1.75″ x .188″ DOM tubing and reinforced to mount 2 shock (5500-series or Fox 2.0).
BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.
