2013 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd
Coldwater, MI—January 8, 2013—BDS Suspension has revamped its Ram 1500 4wd lift kits to fit the new 2013 electronic steering rack equipped trucks.
Both the 4″ and 6″ lift kits feature a pair of one-piece, 1/4″ steel, laser cut high-clearance crossmembers and heavy duty differential skid plate creating a solid subframe for improved ground clearance. The new extended steering knuckles feature repositioned steering mounts for optimal steering angles and improving ball joint operating angles. Combined with BDS’s new tie rod ends, the new knuckles integrate with the factory electronic stability control parameters for OE handling characteristics.
The systems also feature pair of strut spacers used to retain factory ride quality. The front of this system includes sway bar link extensions, 3-point differential drop brackets, billet aluminum driveshaft spacer, and stainless steel brake lines.
Due to the OE ride height variances, BDS offers three rear lift options to get your desired stance: 2″ coil spacers, 3″ Pro-Ride coil springs, or 5″ Pro-Ride coil springs. Also included in the rear, the BDS kits utilize a track bar bracket, upper link relocation brackets, and extended sway bar links, brake line brackets and your choice of BDS-5500 shocks or Fox 2.0 performance series shocks. The 4″ lift kit will clear up to 35″ tires while the 6″ kit clears 37″.
These kits will not fit adjustable rear air suspension equipped models. For more info on these lift kits and to find the distributor nearest you, check out BDS Suspension or call (517) 279-2135.
The show is great, the potential for new business is amazing, but we know what a lot of people come for, the rides…
This section of BDS’s 2012 SEMA coverage focuses on vehicles of SEMA. If you haven’t checked out Part 1 of BDS’s SEMA 2012 Coverage: The Booth yet, click the link to check it out.
SEMA has something for everyone, that is if you are into cars, trucks, or bikes. From lifted trucks and off-road machines, to low riders and luxury exotics, purpose built racecars and rolling boom boxes. BDS teamed up with a number of builders from around the country and beyond to put together some killer customs and head turning creations.
It’s difficult to stand out at a show like SEMA. In the sea of show stopping customs, over the top exotics, and flashy (often gaudy) paint jobs, trying to play the balancing act of attention-getter without looking like you stuck every body on accessory available for it can often be a struggle. BDS was well represented around the show with upward of several dozen vehicles on display, in vendor booths and on display in the featured vehicle area. From lifted JKs to full size Fords, Rams and Silverados.
Starting in the booth, BDS had 4 killer customs on display showing off BDS lift kits and accessories. Each truck and its owner, with their own take on customization, all coming together to be part of the tailgate party.
BDS 8″ 4-Link Long Arm, BDS Dual Shock Hoop with Fox 2.0 Shocks, BDS Dual 9500 Steering Stabilizer Kit
40″ Interco M-16s on 22″ BMF Wheels, Fusion Bumpers, Rigid Industries Lighting, Superwinch Winch, H&S Performance Tuning
BDS 6.5″ High Clearance Lift Kit, Fox 2.0s, BDS Traction Bars
3″ Body Lift, 38″ Interco Swampers, 18″ Fuel Wheels, TJM Winch and accessories
BDS 8″ Long Arm Kit, BDS multishock kit with triple Fox 2.0 Shocks (front) and dual Fox 2.0s (rear), BDS traction bars
37″ Toyo M/Ts on 22×14 XD Diesels, Bulldog Lighting, Undercover Tonneau Cover, Performance Tuning
BDS 6.5″ Long Arm Kit with Fox 2.0 Shocks
Dynatrac ProRock 60s, 40″ Toyo M/Ts on 20″ Fuel Nutz, Vision X Lighting, GenRight Fenders, Performance Tuning
Also displayed in the booth was an oddball rig shown by our sister company and co-exhibitor at the show, Zone Offroad Products. They brought out the Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine’s 2012 Ultimate Adventure rig, a 2012 JK 2Door with 2 front ends, 4-wheel steering, a 4″ lift and 40s. The booth rigs grabbed attention all week long with many of them securing photoshoots for various magazines immediately following the show (we’ll let you know when they hit the newsstand).
Also displayed throughout the show were roughly 40 other custom 4x4s showing off a range of new products and varying levels of customization. Here are just a handful of the BDS-equipped rides on display at the show:

We leaked this photo a couple weeks back, and tonight’s the night to see how it came to be. Check out Offroad Overhaul tonight on the Outdoor Channel to see Markus Voegler’s 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Powerwagon get an off-road makeover before hitting the trails. BDS jumped on board with a 4” long arm suspension lift kit (comparable to a 6” long arm for standard 2500) while others provided wheels, tires, lights, and more. See the buildup and all the action tonight on Offroad Overhaul on the Outdoor Channel! To see Markus’s Testimonial, check out the link.
Show Air Times:
Monday May 28th at 5:30pm and 9:30m (EST)
Tuesday 12:00am and 2:30am (EST)
BDS Suspension recently got involved on a truck buildup on the Outdoor Channel’s Off-Road Overhaul show. The recipient of the off-road makeover was Markus Voegler and his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Powerwagon. When Mike Duval, host of the show told us about the project we jumped on board with a complete long arm kit to outfit the truck. If you haven’t checked out the show look for it on the Monday nights at 5:30pm, 9:30pm, 12:00am, and 2:30am (EST).
We recently received a message from Markus that read “I am not sure where to start, I am one of the lucky people chosen to have my vehicle overhauled for Offroad Overhaul on Outdoor Channel. The vehicle is a 2008 Dodge Powerwagen. The vehicle was outfitted with a 6 inch BDS Suspension long arm. I wanted to take a moment and Thank You for setting me up with such a killer suspension system!! The truck rides nice and just tackles everything I throw at it!!! There are no words to express my thanks and graditude. Jon Aronson, Mike Duval, and crew are some of the greatest people I have been around. I just wanted to let you know that your sponsor support for the show is truely appreciated and speaks volumes for your company!.. I will promote BDS Suspension at every opportunity and my rig is sporting the BDS Decals to boot. Thanks Again for hooking me up with such a great and high quality suspension system. You guys rock!!” -Markus Voegler
Thanks Markus, we love the truck and congrats on the overhaul.

Yesterday, April 4th, the Fullsize Invasion, as it’s being coined by the magazines took over Moab, or at least a small piece of the trail. The inaugural trail ride for fullsize trail rigs came about with the guys over at Four Wheeler and Off-Road Magazine decided it was time to shed some light on the numerous full size rigs that attend Easter Jeep Safari each year. Carter and Mike from BDS headed out in the company tow rig, the monster 2010 Ram 2500 running 8″ of BDS long arm suspension, 40″ Toyo M/Ts and 20″ BMFs with Iron Cross winch bumpers. For the first year organizing there was an impressive turnout with 20+ full size trail rigs (and tow rigs) making it out to run Poison Spider Mesa. Check out some some of the photos and keep an eye out for more in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler Magazine. See more from the Magazines at Four Wheeler Blog and check out the BDS Facebook page for more.
