For years now, Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra/Denali HD owners have been limited to the traditional torsion bar system suspension options. BDS Suspension is excited to add next level technology for improved performance. Adding to the current 4.5" and 6.5" high clearance no torsion bar drop systems offered for 2011+ Chevy/GMC HD trucks, BDS is now shipping 2-3" coilover conversion systems for superior ride quality and performance over any terrain. These new coilover systems have been engineered and tested for improved comfort, fade free performance, and increased suspension travel.
The new 2-3" coilover system is a game changer for HD performance. At the heart of the system is a pair of FOX 2.5 Factory Series Coilover with remote DSC reservoir. These coilovers offer vastly superior dampening for impressive capability to soak up the harshest terrains offroad while offering comfort on your daily commute .These FOX coilovers feature a smooth bore and honed seamless alloy body, 7/8" hardened stainless steel shaft, FOX coil springs, black anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounts and FOX's DSC (dual speed compression) adjustment technology. DSC is the next big thing in suspension performance allowing for easy adjustment of the vehicle's suspension compression dampening to dial in the ideal ride performance to soak up the bumps, both large and small. The DSC has 12 adjustment points for the high speed compression as well as 10 adjustment points for the low speed compression allowing you to make large or small changes to further improve your performance. Adjustments can be made by simply twisting the "blue" high speed and "gold" low speed compression knobs located on the end of the remote reservoir of the FOX 2.5 coilovers. No tools or shop adjustments needed, allowing you to tune the suspension out on the trail. The coilovers come fully assembled, preset for 2.5'' of lift for optimal wheel travel, but can be adjusted between 2-3" of lift with the use of (#129600) spanner wrench. To mount the coilovers BDS supplies a bolt-on bracket that installs on the frame in the shock mount location. A weld-in support gusset is used to reinforce the upper mount, however still allows the kit to be completely reversible if the owner ever chooses to revert back to the torsion bar style suspension and upgrade the suspension on another truck.
In addition to replacing the factory torsion bars, the upper and lower control arms are upgraded to improved strength, travel, and accommodate the new coilovers. The uppers are FOX's new performance upper control arms designed specifically for this system to integrate with the 2.5 coilovers. The arms are fabricated from large 1.5" OD x .120-wall chromoly tubing, fully TIG welded for the highest quality, strength and durability. The arms utilize premium Moog brand ball joints and factory style rubber bushings for smooth, quiet operation and superior durability when compared to arms with uni-balls, poly bushings or heims. The ball joint cups are repositioned for optimal performance allowing a 30% improvement in wheel travel. The FOX upper control arms are finished in a durable black powdercoat and include a FOX branded billet aluminum ball joint dust cap. The control arms come fully assembled for easy install right out of the box. To compliment the uppers, the new lower control arms are built from high strength steel, fully boxed with internally gusseted. These lower arms integrate new reinforced lower coilover mounts and similar to the uppers use durometer specific rubber bushings at the frame mount and high quality Moog ball joints at the knuckle mount for quiet, low maintenance operation.
Rounding out the front suspension BDS supplies front differential relocation to correct CV axle operating angle to optimize CV performance. The relocation hardware installs easily with no differential modification needed while also allowing the reinstallation of the factory skid plate. Longer sway bar links are also included and bolt directly in place of the factory links to correct sway bar operating angle.
In the rear, BDS offers a simple block and u-bolt kit that retains ride quality and full use of the factory overload spring (if equipped). The rear comes standard with precision tuned FOX 2.0 IFP gas shocks and is available with optional FOX factory series 2.5 remote reservoir shocks. Additional options and accessories are in development; stay tuned for more information as new products are released.
If you're looking to get more out of your 2011+ Chevy Silverado HD or GMC Sierra/Denali HD look to BDS Suspension and the new 2-3" Coilover Conversion System.
The Dual Speed Compression (DSC) adjuster provides added control and comfort tuning for on-road use while also offering more aggressive damping for use off-road. The adjuster allows for precise suspension tuning with the simple twist of two clearly defined knobs: No tools and no mess, just a way to easily fine-tune your suspension to best suit your needs in any conditions. The DSC increases both low and high-speed compression levels up to 25%, allowing you to maximize small bump compliance and traction while still having the extra damping required for big hits.
The Low Speed Compression (LSC) adjuster knob offers 10 clicks of adjustment and primarily affects compression damping during slow suspension movements such as G-outs or smooth jump landings. It also affects wheel traction and the harshness or plushness of the vehicle's ride.
The High Speed Compression (HSC) adjuster knob offers 12 clicks of adjustment and mainly affects compression damping during medium to fast suspension movements such as steep jump faces, harsh flat landings, and aggressive wash board roads.
Like many of our other IFS suspension systems for the Chevys, this 4.5" system is packed with the same features and benefits of the current 6.5" kit but designed for a lower lift height for those looking for a more modest setup. Like the 6.5" system, the 4.5" includes one piece crossmembers, differential drop brackets, ductile cast iron steering knuckles and bolt-on no torsion bar drop brackets that keep the torsion bars in the factory location at the frame. Also included are stainless steel front brake lines, extended sway bar links and differential skid plates. The front replacement steel splash guard with the BDS logo finishes out the front of the clean, high clearance design. In the rear, the system comes with a 2" block and u-bolt setup that levels the vehicle perfectly. For those looking for a little more height in the rear, the existing 3" rear block kits can be substituted in..
Once again BDS beats the competition and is first to market with this comprehensive High Clearance suspension lift kit. This 6-1/2" lift kit utilizes high arched crossmembers that blend perfectly with the angle of the factory installed lower control arms for a completely integrated look while lifting your vehicle a full 6-1/2"dramatically increasing ground clearance at the front crossmembers and improving operating geometry. Torsion bars are mounted directly to the top of the lower a-arm eliminating the need to drop the torsion bar crossmember.
A front skid plate and differential skid plate come standard to lock everything together, creating a nearly indestructible sub frame for extreme off road protection.
Customize this lift kit by choosing a 3" or 5" rear block kit, BDS 5500 or Fox 2.0 gas shock absorbers, and a 5500 or 9500 Series Steering Stabilizer.

Shotpeening increases tensile strength and reduces fatigue while lessening the material thickness required. The thinner material allows for increased wheel travel and provides a softer ride.
Bolt-style leaf alignment clamps prevent leaves from fanning out and allow the leaves to twist and flex, yielding higher articulation.
Each spring is preset using hydraulic stress to reduce fatigue in the steel and prevent sagging.
Some applications include leaf springs with steel encased rubber bushings. Other applications include blue urethane bushings.
Anti-friction pads are placed between the leaves to reduce friction within the spring and noise from metal-to-metal contact.
Tapered and roll-pointed leaves add flexibility and provides an even deflection rate. Tapering allows a smoother transition between leaves as compression takes place, resulting in a softer ride with increased wheel travel.
Springs are either cold wound with chrome silicon 9254 or hot wound with 5160 to guarantee long life.
BDS coil springs are designed to withstand full coil bind. In other words, you can smash our coils to totally flat and they will return to their original height.
A polyester based powder coat is applied to ensure flexibility and durability.
Each spring is preset with a hydraulic stress to reduce fatigue in the steel and prevent sagging.
Shotpeening increases tensile strength and allows for maximum wheel travel without sacrificing the life of the spring.
