The Journey Begins: Our Vision for the XT Ram 2500
When we first got our hands on the 2014 Ram 2500, it was a reliable workhorse, but we had bigger plans. Our goal was to create an offroad machine that could handle the toughest trails while still maintaining the truck’s versatility for daily use. With this vision in mind, we began our transformation journey. Here’s a deep dive into the upgrades we made, featuring the BDS XT Series coil-over conversion suspension system, heavy-duty steel bumpers, and 37" Nitto tires mounted on Method Race Wheels.
First on our list was upgrading the suspension. The BDS XT Series coil-over conversion suspension system was a game-changer. This system offers superior handling and stability, which is crucial for offroad adventures. Built to take full advantage of the factory suspension design and take performance to the next level, these 3" radius arm coiler systems correct suspension, steering and driveline geometry with room for 37" tires. At the heart of this system is a pair of heavy duty radius arms built to withstand whatever abuse you can throw at them. These new systems convert the front coil springs over to FOX 2.5 remote reservoir coil-overs for improved ride quality and performance across any terrain. The new coil-over mounts key off the factory coil buckets for easy installation.
Next, we fortified the Ram 2500 with heavy-duty steel bumpers. These bumpers not only give the truck a more aggressive look but also provide essential protection. Whether it’s fending off debris or surviving minor collisions, these bumpers are built to last.
Tires are the critical contact point between your vehicle and the terrain, so upgrading to 37" Nitto Recon Grappler tires was a no-brainer. These tires offer exceptional traction and durability, essential for offroad performance. To complement our new tires, we opted for Method 17” 305 wheels. These wheels are not only stylish but also designed for the demanding conditions of offroading.
